Wow, in exactly one week we'll all be together in Gainesville, Georgia getting ready for Swaziland! The time sure has gone fast. Hope that you're all enjoying these final days and getting everything set and packed.
I was able to talk to our contacts in Swaziland yesterday and I'm not sure who is more excited about this summer...them or us! They cannot wait to meet us. And I told them the feeling is mutual.
There are a few things from my conversation that I wanted to pass on to you:
1. I got a weather report that the temperature has dipped into the 40s at night and is barely reaching 70 during the day. A reminder to bring warm clothes and that layers are a great way to handle the differing temperatures.
2. We will be staying in a team house together that has bunk beds. However, there will not be enough beds for everyone. Therefore, if you have a sleeping pad/mat could you please bring this with you? It will make sleeping on the floor a whole lot more comfortable!
3. We will be doing VBS type ministry with the kids we are working with. Our contacts asked if we could bring supplies to help make this happen. I have a list of needed materials below. If you are able to bring something, could you please leave a comment with what you're bringing so that others know! There are 18 of us, so we can double up on some of these items (like soccer balls!).
Items:
Puppets
Balloons
Parachute
Soccer balls (bring deflated)
Small pump (to blow up soccer balls)
Decks of playing cards
Beads and string (to make bracelets)
Markers
Crayons
Paper
Thanks everyone!!
